pdaley Posted November 23, 2004 Posted November 23, 2004 Yo! Steve! I need a sample. Can you spare 30 sec. on virtual sets? I need a little convincing... Quote
anzovin Posted November 23, 2004 Author Posted November 23, 2004 We will have some samples up shortly. Not on virtual sets, however.... Steve Anzovin Studio Quote
anzovin Posted November 23, 2004 Author Posted November 23, 2004 We've uploaded some brief example footage from AM in Live Action: Sam runs through a few of the available post effects in AM, and why you might use them: http://www.rafhashvideotapes.com/lib/rafha...ivePostFX01.mov Sam discusses different approaches to compositing shots: http://www.rafhashvideotapes.com/lib/rafha...ompBasics02.mov --Steve Anzovin Studio Quote
anzovin Posted November 24, 2004 Author Posted November 24, 2004 Sam pointed out the following to me, which is worth repeating here: "I wonder whether or not we need to stress that the tuts cover an "all in AM" approach? ... i.e there's no hidden catch where the first thing I say is "No, go and buy all these other expensive apps"." In short, he shows you stuff you can do entirely in AM. I think most AM users don't know what AM is capable of with regards to production effects--it's not much discussed--I know some of Sam's material was an eye-opener for us here. binder3d Posted December 1, 2004 Posted December 1, 2004 The samples look really nice. But your saying probably that since we have AM that we dont need After Effects? Or do we need AE for other cool stuff? Thanks- Quote
anzovin Posted December 2, 2004 Author Posted December 2, 2004 I wouldn't say you'd never need After Effects. AE does all kinds of things AM does not. We use it here all the time for roto, Primatte knockouts, FX painting, certain kinds of batch processing, using special filters, etc. But, AM's FX and comping tools are actually pretty powerful and they don't cost extra. Certainly, if you don't already have AE, it would be worthwhile to see if AM can do the job before padding Adobe's pockets. Sam does a great job of explaining these underappreciated and poorly understood features. Steve Anzovin Studio. Quote
anzovin Posted December 9, 2004 Author Posted December 9, 2004 Looks like we'll be shipping AM in Live Action on Tuesday, pretty much on schedule. The pre-order price will change to the regular price then, so anyone who wants to take advantage of the pre-order, now's the time to do it. Sales prices will end for some other products as well. The content on this disc is pretty amazing and is going to be a real eyeopener for most of you. Raf and Bill Young were standing around watching it earlier today and were going "Gee, I didn't know you could that in AM." Steve Anzovin Studio Quote
Mega Posted December 10, 2004 Posted December 10, 2004 Next Tuesday? Wow, that was quick. I pre-ordered mine last week! Can't wait... Tony Quote
