Anyone have any help on how to close this hole?

 

Everytime I close it, it has creases UGH................

 

Any help will be GREATLY appreciated.

I'm not seeing the problem. Remove that CP in the middle of the free hanging spline and make 2 5 point patches. If it's still not as smooth as you want you may consider adding a spline so that the 5 point patches are seperated by a single 4 point patch.

My only suggestion is this...make sure you don't have any three point patches...that's a big no-no in this type of situation. Make sure everything is a four point patch..I'd explain more if you'd tried closing the hole up and post up a screenshot (just don't save it after you do it)

It has been my experience that, creasing 5 pointers are always trying to tell you that you are asking it to curve beyond it's built-in design limits, whatever those are. At any rate, the only solution is to add splines to reduce it's size and hence it's maximum curvature. I've attached one possible solution.

Thanks Guys!!

 

Paul Daley helped me through this by fixing part of my model and explaing what was wrong.

 

Seems I had the wrong concept of using hooks and also having more than 4 lines coming into one control point.
