anzovin Posted September 19, 2004 Posted September 19, 2004 The Setup Machine 2 for Animation:Master is now available for download from the Anzovin Studio Online Store: http://www.rafhashvideotapes.com/ The Setup Machine 2 has been completely reconceived and rewritten and is a major advance over version 1. It is faster, easier to use, and more versatile than before. We believe it is the most powerful commercial rigging system for any 3D app. Among the new features: --TSM2 is now a suite of three plug-ins that work entirely within A:M. No more importing and exporting models, no more working in an external app. --TSM Builder helps you quickly create skeletons for any body plan. A tabbed panel provides options for customizing human, animal, insectoid, and fantasy creature skeletons. For example, you can now make a winged, multi-armed humanoid by going to the Biped tab and choosing the appropriate options. Click OK and the left half of skeleton is built instantly, ready for you to position in your model. A Parts tab also provides individual parts--arms, legs, spines, and so on--so you can build bizarre custom body plans. --TSM Flipper mirrors the half-skeleton once the bones are in place. This saves 50 percent of the positioning and fitting effort that was required by TSM1. --TSM Rigger creates the constraints and controls. It takes less than 5 seconds to rig most models. --You can still add your own intermediate or fan bones, and TSM2 will work fine. The Raf rig has been completely rebuilt for this release. This is the first major revision of the rig in three years. We can say flat-out that the new rig is the most advanced, time-saving, easy-to-animate setup available for A:M. --Everything is more streamlined, with many fewer hidden bones; general performance and responsiveness are improved. --The new spine arches, squashes, and stretches, and can be stacked in multiples at various angles. --Arms and legs squash and stretch. --You can quickly switch between FK and IK on both arms and legs. --Tail/tentacle rig has an adjustable lag feature--drag the slider and get accurate secondary motion, without setting keys by hand. --New rigs for wings and insect legs --The same dependability and ease of use as in previous Raf rigs. The Setup Machine 2 for A:M takes advantage of the latest features of A:M 2004 (v11.x) and later. It will not work with earlier versions. The Setup Machine 2 for A:M, downloadable version, is currently priced at $100 for new users. The Windows version is available now; a Mac OSX version is forthcoming. Current users can upgrade from TSM v1.x for $70. When you order the upgrade, please type either your Anzovin Studio TSM1 order number or your current serial number into the comments field of the order form. We will confirm this and issue you a new serial number. (Your old number will not work with the new version.) Please allow up to 24 hours for receipt of your new serial number for orders place on regular workdays, up to 48 hours on weekends and holidays. When Raf suggested we develop an automated rigging solution for Animation:Master back in early 2001, I thought it was a shot in the dark--no modular rigger quite like TSM existed for any 3D app, and we had no idea whether the Hash community really wanted it or not. Turns out that thousands of you did. Thanks especially for all your letters of praise, encouragement, and, yes, criticism. They helped us carry on through an unexpectedly long period of development and make TSM2 as good as we think it is. We'd also like to thank Hash for being responsive to our many SDK requests and, of course, for creating great character animation software. Would you care to give an estimate for a release date for the OSX version? The *only* reason I haven't quite rid my home of the Wintel beast is that TSM for OSX isn't out yet! Quote
anzovin Posted October 4, 2004 Author Posted October 4, 2004 We were just talking about TSM2 for OSX today. We don't have a release date yet, but it will happen. Steve Anzovin Studio Quote
luckbat Posted October 4, 2004 Posted October 4, 2004 Hmm. If TSM2 only works with A:M v.11, then I guess there's no real hurry on the MacOS X port. Oh well. Quote
anzovin Posted October 5, 2004 Author Posted October 5, 2004 Yep, TSM2 for OSX will only work with a version of A:M v11 for OSX. Can't be any other way. Steve Anzovin Studio Quote
luckbat Posted October 5, 2004 Posted October 5, 2004 I hope that includes v11.5, too! Hash is not producing a v11 for MacOS. Quote
anzovin Posted October 5, 2004 Author Posted October 5, 2004 Yes--in fact, TSM2 will only be for v11.5, probably, although we aren't sure of that yet. Steve Anzovin Studio Quote
