c-wheeler Posted June 9, 2004 Posted June 9, 2004 I am trying to rig a face using ver 11.0f, followin the Rig a Face cd When I try to copy the left hand poses to the right hand side it doesn't seem to work, other than one or two points just underneath the nose. Does anyone have any suggestions? Youre help is much appreciated! Quote
Bill_Y Posted June 14, 2004 Posted June 14, 2004 You need to make sure that you're model is identical across the 0 line of the y axis. If the face isn't centered then mirroring won't work. Another thing that could be the problem is you might not have key muscle on. If key muscle is not active, then you can't copy and paste mirrored. If these two suggestions don't fix the problem then you might post an image of the wireframe of the face and then I'll try and give you more suggestions. Quote
entity Posted June 15, 2004 Posted June 15, 2004 I found the same problem, even though I knew that my model was exactly mirrored (because I did some mesh tweeking earlier) re-did it about 3 times and finally gave up. But it suddenly crossed my mind when I changed to another model that I hadn't tried updating the screen with the space bar. I tried that after copy- paste mirrored and it worked. Or you could be having a problem with the mirror selection tolerence being too small- ( in the options panel in the general or modeling tab, I think) try adjusting that, if refreshing the screen doesnt work. Got it? Quote
Bill_Y Posted June 16, 2004 Posted June 16, 2004 Another option is to turn up the radius for the proximity of the mirrored points. This can easily be done by opening the options panel, going to the modeling tab and setting the mirror mode tolerance to something like .1 instead of the default .05. This could cause some points close together to unwantingly snap, but it should resolve the issue in most cases. Quote
c-wheeler Posted June 30, 2004 Author Posted June 30, 2004 Should have got back to you all before, it was the mirror selection tolerence being too small. Thanks for the help! Quote
