KenH Posted May 17, 2004 Posted May 17, 2004 (edited) I'm working on a toon walk cycle. I have motion blur set, but it seems to be coming out strangely. Is MB not possible in toon? Here's what it's doing: I've since turned off motion blur and it's still happening. I don't know why it's happening now. Edited May 17, 2004 by KenH Quote
zandoriastudios Posted May 17, 2004 Posted May 17, 2004 is that with multi-pass? or just A-buffer? I would think that you would get a good blur with multipass, but I haven't done anything with toon yet. Quote
KenH Posted May 17, 2004 Author Posted May 17, 2004 It was multi-pass. I had accidentally switched Field Render on. No idea why that effect would be needed, but it's fixed now. Thanks! Quote
zandoriastudios Posted May 17, 2004 Posted May 17, 2004 That is for rendering for interlaced video. Quote
Randy Posted May 17, 2004 Posted May 17, 2004 I was about to say that it looked like field rendering. Field rendering is used for interlaced T.V.'s and such. An NTSC television refreshes all 480+ lines every 30th of a second. But it does it by doing the even lines in one pass, and the odd ones in the next. Each pass happens in a 60th of a second. So by putting one 60th worth of animation on each "Field", you can effectively double your frame rate to 60fps on a interlaced medium like T.V.. Hope that make some sense, Randy Quote
Admin Rodney Posted May 17, 2004 Admin Posted May 17, 2004 With apologies to Ken... I love it when people make these kind of 'mistakes'. Such interesting results and information are revealed! Now the trick of course is to store the information discovered for a time when we really need that particular solution or effect. That is not such an easy task! Quote
