A frame from the project I am currently revising.

Can anyone suggest what might be causing the shadow to show through the wall

and what might be causing the lines on the ceiling?

The wall is double skinned, with a gap between the skins ( walls)

I believe it has been said that you need two layers / patches to stop the light from passing through.

If your wall is one mesh plane I'll bet that is the case with your image.

Adding a hidden/second wall behind the first might make it go away...

Mike asked me to post the progress so here it is. I have to confess that some of it was down to operator error ( ie me ) but I still don't know what was causing the lines on the ceiling ?

Thanks to everyone for their patience and advice.
