I'm not sure how these guys make their money, I don't know if they are doing actual effects projects for clients (I assume they are) or if the YouTube channel is their primary source of revenue. I note that in the video they are using Davinci Resolve... mostly the Fusion page of the software... to do the compositing of the 'sodium vapor' footage. Since Blackmagic Design (the folks behind Resolve and Fusion) is primarily a camera and hardware company I wouldn't be surprised to see them leverage this approach for keying and compositing... perhaps even in camera.
