PSA: Avast CCleaner Software Infected with Malware

If you use CCleaner, it has been infected with malware for about a month:

I would suggest removing it and scanning your system with Windows Defender, at the bare minimum, if not taking even more aggressive measures.

Toms Hardware says

If you've updated CCleaner since Aug. 15 and you're running 32-bit Windows, you may be infected. You should roll back to a pre-Aug. 15 snapshot of your system, or run a malware scan.

 

 

 

Well, fortunately I'm on 64-bit, but many people here are not.
