NancyGormezano Posted December 22, 2014 Posted December 22, 2014 courtesy of Norse, a northern California cyber security firm http://map.ipviking.com/ If you watch for any length of time, it becomes quite exciting. AND interestingly Google pops up every now & then as an attacker ??? Quote
Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted December 22, 2014 Hash Fellow Posted December 22, 2014 It's something I don't know enough about for it to make any sense. Quote
NancyGormezano Posted December 22, 2014 Author Posted December 22, 2014 I don't know nuthin' neither - but it sure looks like a whole lotta crazy cyber shooting going on. There's an info button in upper right hand corner of the map which explains the graphics some, and how to interact with map. An article at Forbes puts Norse's method into sorta "inglush" http://www.forbes.com/sites/frankbi/2014/12/19/live-map-shows-thousands-of-cyber-attacks-as-they-happen/ and excerpt from the article : Norse is able to come up with this data by placing more than eight million bait computers, or what they call “honeypots,” in 167 different data centers and 47 different countries where they’re attacked by hackers who think the bait machines hold credit card numbers or other sensitive information.
