lazz Posted March 21, 2004 Posted March 21, 2004 So I was reading through the post by Grubber called Mecha. And I was inspired. So I made a robot. I'm still trying to figure out if I like the legs and the feet though. I also can't seem to come up for a name for it. All suggestions and comments are most definitley welcome. -Robert Quote

lazz Posted March 22, 2004 Author Posted March 22, 2004 ...and a wireframe: -also, I'm still trying to find a name for it. I was thinking something out of Greek mythology maybe. Suggestions would be great. -robert Quote
Jimmy neutron Posted March 23, 2004 Posted March 23, 2004 Very nice work, awsome detail. But to add my two bits, I think the cables are a bit high on the mesh. Maybe this is for detail when you come close up, but in my experience detail this small can usually be added with a bump or diffuse map. Quote
lazz Posted March 25, 2004 Author Posted March 25, 2004 Yeah, you were totally right on the amount of mesh I have on the cables, so I changed that by a lot. I've been trying to figure out how to rig it, but I'm having trouble with the elbows. I can't seem to get them to work right. I'd like to have them do something like in the picture when the arms move. If anyone had suggestions on how I can rig it... I'm all ears! Thanks- Robert Quote
Grubber Posted March 25, 2004 Posted March 25, 2004 can't help with rig. but I think for cables you can use a single spline for each of cable and render it as line. Quote
