Simon Edmondson
Is it possible to copy the key frames from one character in a chor and post them onto another using the same rig. If so what is the proceedure ? Have tried selecting all of character A's keys in the PWS and pasting on B's but it beeps to suggest not possible ? regards simon
Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted October 29, 2013 Hash Fellow Share Posted October 29, 2013 It can be done. -Set the filters for what you actually want to transfer (typically Rotation and Translation for bone keys) -Set the "Key Bone" filter -CTRL-select the bones you wish to copy -Edit>Copy Keyframe -Set the "Key Model" Filter -Select the other character you want to paste to. The model bone or any bone will do. -Edit>Paste Keyframe Ka-zaam, it's done. This presumes that other settings like IK/FK switches that might affect the bones are set the same on both characters. If you can't conveniently select all the bones on the first model you need to select, you can make more than one trip back and forth. Remember that the crucial change between copying and pasting is that setting of the "Key Bone" or "Key Model" filter.

Simon Edmondson
Did this get you what you needed, Simon? Robert Thank you for your reply. Pardon my tardiness of response . I'm afraid I missed it when caught up in other stuff. I shall try it today. In the meantime, I just saw the tips on Startup in V17g and there was reference to a feature called "Action Ease"? I had a quick look and couldn't see it anywhere. Do you know whereabouts it may be so I canhave a look at it ? regards simon Ps Just tried it and it seems to work well. Thank you very much for that. Ease is a property of the action that determines how far through the action you are at the current frame. By default it always says 0% but automatically goes thru the action at that same speed as the keyframes in the action. But when you set ease values you can change that. If you set 0% at 1:00 and 50% at 5:00 and 100% at 6:00, the action will slowly play from the beginning to the halfway point from 1:00 to 5:00 then quickly play the last half from 5:00 to 6:00. You can set any % on any frame so you can make actions halt or reverse even.
