Shatner and Wheaton narrate the Curiosity Rover

Here's another not-animation thing but an interesting comparison of performance choices.

 

In this case William Shatner and Will Wheaton read the exact same script describing the Curiosity Rover landing that is coming up, with different results.

I say ICK to both of them.

 

Too annouceryish...both have stereotypical, caricature type inflections taught in broadcasting and/or scifi school. Blah, boring, cliche.

 

And Shatner doesn't seem to be able to play anyone other than himself, even tho I really like him playing himself, and wouldn't want it any other way. No range. I'm not that familiar with Wheaton's style.

 

I was hoping for something more creative, and not so "taking themselves so seriously".
