Admin Rodney Posted November 18, 2011 Admin Posted November 18, 2011 Here's a look back into the past! This is just a reminder to those interested in collecting A:M Characters that two of the characters Jeff Lew uses in his DVD tutorials are still available via his site. Look for the link way down at the bottom on the Customer Support page: http://www.jefflew.com/DVD_support.html The site states: FREE MODELS These models are FREE to anyone. You don't need to purchase the DVD to use them. They are for non-commercial work only. These models are "as is". There is no support for these models. As I recall, one thing to note is that the constraints for these characters are all created in the accompanying Action files. If you don't open the character in an Action or alternately drop the Action onto the character in a Choreography you'll have a really hard time animating these dudes. Thanks to Jeff for the characters... and the outstanding DVD tutorials! Quote
itsjustme Posted November 18, 2011 Posted November 18, 2011 Jeff Lew also has two inexpensive tutorials called "Animating Power and Weight" which are very good...they are here (part one) and here (part two). Quote
largento Posted November 22, 2011 Posted November 22, 2011 Thanks for jogging my memory, Rodney! I finally ordered the Killer Bean Forever DVD and have been watching it. Jeff Lew is great at sharing information about the process and has an 87 minute video on the making of the 85 minute movie. :-) Even though he didn't use A:M in creating it, there's a wealth of relevant information he passes on about his processes and trials. He plays it straight about his use of motion capture (and poor man's motion capture) and even that is informative. He also discusses lighting, rendering, compositing etc. all with speed and ease of use in mind as his goals. The fact that he was able to create an entire feature-length animated movie on his own is tremendous. It's a fun movie, too, with lots of the action that made his Killer Bean shorts so popular. Quote
