Darkwing
Hey all, me again, guess I haven't really been around in about a month and half, so figured I'd pop in and say hello and show you what I'm up to. For the most part just been busy with work, I'm pretty much the main projectionist now and it's a summer of blockbusters so I've been quite busy. However, I have been helping Chris Kroznuski (ELZ creator) on finishing up a project of his which is Star Trek Red Squad. He's been doing this one for a few years now and episode 4 is the final episode to be made. However, unlike the previous three episodes, this one has character animation and whatnot, which is what I'm helping out with. I've also written this episode and hopefully it won't take more than 6 months to produce as I start university in a few months. But yeah, here's a couple of pictures and videos Episode 3: You can watch the others and whatnot here: http://www.flashtrek-tuf.com/t3653-episodes So yeah, hope all is well here with everyone and see you around I guess
Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted May 19, 2011 Hash Fellow Share Posted May 19, 2011 Nice lookin's sets! Have you thought of compositing live people into them?
Darkwing
Something like that would be too costly as you'd have to worry about costuming, plus most of our cast is spread around the world and lack the proper equipment
Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted May 19, 2011 Hash Fellow Share Posted May 19, 2011 Character animation it is then! I think just seeing the outside of the spaceships was a bit unsatisfying, so adding characters should be a good thing.
Darkwing
Yeah, characters were supposed to be a part of episode 3 (thus the VOs) however the time just didn't allow for it and episode 3 had already been pushed back by about 6 months before, so making it's April release date seemed like a better idea then add 6 more months to its deadline. Funny thing is, Red Squad basically started as a few test renders by Chris when he got Max and then it just sorta blossomed and kept going and is now to the point where there is characters and whatnot. How we've broken it up too is he's doing all the ship stuff and I the character/interiors. So we shall see finally a good collaboration between a Max user and an AM user working together to make animation!
