Darkwing
So, I'm kinda fiddling around with some stuff working on this concept of a project, and what I'm working with is fire, namely my hands on fire. The hand model I'm using is the one that came on the Extras CD, so it doesn't exactly fit my hand, but it helps some, but a real hand model that fits may be in order, but yeah: shot1.mov
Darkwing
Hm, I have never been able to get past this problem, and it's making the emitter 100% transparent with it emitting particles. There must be a solution somewhere though
Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted February 17, 2010 Hash Fellow Share Posted February 17, 2010 I had that problem also with my cumulus cloud test. i couldn't get the emitter to be 100% invisible. I haven't gone back to it yet to investigate further.
Darkwing
oddly enough, i used to be able to like 2 years ago with V13, but even now, if i try particles with V13, it leaves this residue of sorts. I've been playing with it all afternoon and I'm a little closer, but not much really. I'll keep you all updated though, as this could be a particularly important effect for my new project
Darkwing
oh man, i'm soo close. just one little hitch still in the way
Darkwing
most interesting, this is my results so far, if I render it in shaded mode, the particles work fine, only thing is that shaded mode also renders the axis markers in the bottom left hand corner. If there is some way to get that to go away, then that would work.
Darkwing
see, this is more of what i want it to look like, just without the axis markers!
Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted February 18, 2010 Hash Fellow Share Posted February 18, 2010 see, this is more of what i want it to look like, just without the axis markers! Render with slightly higher res and lightly wider angle and crop the "gnomon" (it's called) out in your editing app.
Darkwing
hmm, it would make filming annoying, always having to make sure things are far enough away from the camera that the gnomon can be cropped out, but if it's all that can be done, than it is all that can be done
Darkwing
Ok, after digging around the forum, I have found that this is a problem with all versions of AM that has not been addressed in the AM programming, so I'm gonna make a report about it and perhaps we can have the rendering engine fixed
Darkwing
here's an effect for the "light-up" stage of the hand, when the hand is in an energy form. The unfortunate thing about this is if it were to be applied to a live action model, the CG hand would have to fit the live action hand like as perfectly as possible movinghand.mov
