jason1025 Posted January 15, 2010 Posted January 15, 2010 I find myself creating unique looks in group attribute and then I say to myself I wish I had that as a material. How can I easily creat that as a material without having to do it manually. Quote
Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted January 15, 2010 Hash Fellow Posted January 15, 2010 It may be possible to splice group surface settings into a material in a text editor. save simple examples of both and look at them to see the file structure. Quote

Good idea but it would be nice if this was a feature. I requested something like that before but it was rejected because Yoda believed that my idea was redundant because we have the ability to save materials. But we don't really. We have to create materials from scratch and transcribe settings. Quote

jason1025 Posted January 15, 2010 Author Posted January 15, 2010 Your right I tested creating a material from a group via text edit and it worked. Seems like a plugin would be easy to create for some one with knowledge of that sort of thing. Quote
