ok futhering my work on trying to make my dark matter effects i found that one basic once can be created by using toon lines, but this seams to be a full on off aspect. is there a way to render one object with toons on while the rest of the sceen stays normal?

set toon render settings in a group or material on the model.

 

Then just turn toon on in the render settings with no other options set
