Laconic Posted October 21, 2009 Posted October 21, 2009 Hi, I've been looking around the forums for answers to my problem with the "Trouble Loading HDR" error, when I try to import an HDR as an image in v15.g. I saw a post in which Yves Poissant said that it is not an "HDR file format" one imports, but a "High Dynamic Range Data" image. Can anyone elaborate on this? Essentially, I want to import High Dynamic Range pictures like the "Galileo" and "Uffizi Gallery" images from the "Debevic" site to work with creating lighting environments for my models. Any help would be appreciated. Tim R. Quote
Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted October 21, 2009 Hash Fellow Posted October 21, 2009 can you post a link to an image that doesn't work? Quote
Laconic Posted October 22, 2009 Author Posted October 22, 2009 Sure! http://www.debevec.org/Probes/galileo_probe.hdr Quote
Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted October 22, 2009 Hash Fellow Posted October 22, 2009 I imported into the images folder and it opened up just fine, except that the text seems to be inverted Are you trying to open it differently? Quote
photoman Posted October 22, 2009 Posted October 22, 2009 The HDR supported formats that A:M can import are .hdr (Radiance file) and .exr (OpenEXR). I use both and they work fine A:M v13. Photoman Quote
Laconic Posted October 22, 2009 Author Posted October 22, 2009 I'm using 15.0g. I'm not sure why I get that error, but I do. Anyone else have this problem? Quote

Anyone else have this problem? maybe your copy is corrupted? Download it again. You are RMBing on Images and choosing Import>image, right? hdr images never load or just that one? Quote
Laconic Posted October 22, 2009 Author Posted October 22, 2009 I haven't been able to load any HDR Images. What does "-ing" mean? Quote
Laconic Posted October 22, 2009 Author Posted October 22, 2009 I'll try re-downloading the 15.0g. Maybe because I'm on a Mac? Perhaps I'm downloading the .hdr in an incorrect fashion? T Quote
Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted October 22, 2009 Hash Fellow Posted October 22, 2009 What does "RMB-ing" mean? =Right Mouse Button I should stop using acronyms to save time. I always have to come back and type them out full. Quote
largento Posted October 22, 2009 Posted October 22, 2009 Are you on a Mac? HDR input doesn't work on the Mac version. Quote
Laconic Posted October 22, 2009 Author Posted October 22, 2009 Ah! There's the answer! I'm on a Mac so I guess Ii' SOL on the HDR. No problem! I'm resourceful! Thanks! Quote
