detbear
Hey All!!! So if I have a character lighted to my needs using HDRI.....How can I render just the character without the Image background model. Basically with an alpha/ exr(preferably) This would be for the purpose of compositing the character with the IB lighting into another composite.... similar to alpha channel rendering in normal lighted shots. Thanks for any suggestions, William
Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted September 2, 2009 Hash Fellow Share Posted September 2, 2009 In my brief test you dont' need an image background to have the model GI lit. If I render a model with GI on and with no other objects it gets an alpha channel. This had no lights except for the GI lighting. Is this not what you are going for? detbear
Robert, Did you use an image for the lighting? Without seeing the image it's hard to tell how effective it's matching up with your kettle.
Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted September 3, 2009 Hash Fellow Share Posted September 3, 2009 Here's a PRJ in a zip with lighting image. I've deleted all the lights so only the GI is lighting the model. It seems to give different lighting on different sides of the model. GITest.zip The image is a free one from the web. Let me know if this isn't doing what you wanted because I don't know what I'm doing really.
