marcoblbr
Hi, at the intro video of Animation Master you have Homer Simpson and a T-rex being animated! I wonder if someone has this model? I didn't find at the extras CD that people mentioned in other posts. Also, Homer, the fat guy, is no longer avaiable at the FTP. I saw at other posts that it was in the Data folder of the FTP, which doesn't exist anymore. I really wanted to make some animation using the T-Rex. I found a free model, but couldn't import to A:M. I can import it as a prop but it is useless as it has no bones! Using the plugin import function, A:M begin importing but stops at 20%. I tried some other 3ds models and all hung at 20%. Is it a bug of A:M 2005 or the plugin ? Maybe someone could test importing this t-rex model to see if works! Is there a newer version of the 3ds plugin? Thanks! PS: After about 6 min importing, it finally finished but I still got no bones after importing :-( And also, the quality compared to the prop was not good. The prop imported with a better texture!! 3DS_T_Rex_Model.zip

Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted March 30, 2009 Hash Fellow Share Posted March 30, 2009 polygon models (what you were trying to import) can take a very long time to finish importing. However they almost always are not made well for use in A:M. They will always need serious editing to be used. Almost everything you will find on the web is a polygon model. I have a fat guy and a carnotaur on my V9 CD. Neither has what we would today call a "rig" . Just basic geometry bones. They would be awkward to animate. Send me an e-mail.
