Need URL assistance (Linking to Manual and TECHREF)

Okay... extra cool points go to anyone that can remind me how to link to the Tech Ref and Manual found in ftp://ftp.hash.com/pub/docs

The URL is: http://www.hash.com//TECHREF.pdf and http://www.hash.com//TAOAM.pdf

I've linked to it before but have gone senile.

I need the link for a quick test.

The size of the files opening online is probably the major obstacle to success.

Try http://www.hash.com/ftp/pub/docs/TAOAM.pdf

and http://www.hash.com/ftp/pub/docs/TECHREF.pdf

This looks like the solution:

http://www.hash.com/ftp/pub/docs/TAOAM.pdf#page=20

Thanks Eric and Sean!

Eric... you are first but Sean's URL is more fully formed. ;)

It was the 'ftp' in the URL order that I forgot.

Linking to pages within the PDF file would work if not for the large size of the files.

Trust me you won't hear me complain that the manual and tech ref are too large!

The problem is one of access time and bandwidth.

If every time I link to a page in the manual or tech ref someone has to download the entire file... Hash Inc's bandwidth will take a serious hit. Not to mention the access to the page itself would be... very... very... slow.

My plan is to set up a process that grants access to the manual and tech ref via everyone's harddrives.

I have a working example now... but its certainly not refined.

Best of all is that the results are displayed inside of A:M.

Having all the information from the manual and tech ref right there in A:M is nice I think.

And from there other references can be easily be added.

I always link to this one:

http://www.hash.com/Technical_Reference/Te...l_Reference.htm

Then I find the page I want, right click the index reference and open in a new tab.

Then I copy the url like so:

http://www.hash.com/Technical_Reference/Cu..._WO_CREASES.htm

For some reason it does not work for me in Firefox, though, so I do it in IE.

Do I get the prize for doing it differently?

(Eric, I was going to suggest you go back on the meds, but if that Visual Texture Walkthrough is what happens when you're off them, then I say stay off!)

Thats a good link Caroline.

Unfortunately the old Tech Ref doesn't have all the write ups and pics that the newer one does.

Still great stuff however!

Tell you what... I'll accidentally ship the prize Shaun took from Eric to you.

Shhhh! No one needs to know but me and you.
