Is there a way to manipulate hair, rigid bodies, cloth simulators, via forces. I think I have heard of such a technique but I am not quite sure.

You really do want to complete the exercises in TAoA:M. You'll find that #16 and #18 introduce you to using forces.

Whoops. I did those exercises but I looked back and realized that did them half way through because I thought I had the basic idea of the lesson. My bad. I really should do all the lessons again now that I have a better understanding of A:M.
