flashawd Posted February 11, 2008 Posted February 11, 2008 Hi - I am trying to get the effect of bright light bursting through a triangle shaped window - any suggestions - would I set the window transparency down and what type of light should I use. I have tried several things and can't seem to get the light concentrated or "glowing" through the window. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks - Eric Quote
KenH Posted February 11, 2008 Posted February 11, 2008 Yeah a transparent window (30%) or even no window would do. The option you want in the light is volumetrics. It's an option in the properties of any type of light. Alot of experimenting will be needed, but a high contrast would be a good start. Quote
flashawd Posted February 11, 2008 Author Posted February 11, 2008 Hi Ken - would you suggest any type of light over the others? Quote
Wiskey Posted February 11, 2008 Posted February 11, 2008 Use a Klieg light. You can also put a turbulence on it (to make it look like dust in the beam). Right-click on the light in the chor and there will be a lot of choices for kinds of turbulence but I don't know the differences between them? Quote
flashawd Posted February 11, 2008 Author Posted February 11, 2008 Thankyou Wiskey - I'll give it a try. Quote
frosteternal Posted February 11, 2008 Posted February 11, 2008 You also need to put a bit of patches outside the window, colour them the colour of your light, and set the ambience to 100%, and turn the "Glow" options on. This will give you the exterior "blowout" light effect. Quote
