It seems like such an easy thing considering i have already made myself a nice rendition of a small airlane.

Now I have been tasked with producing some teaching aids for a map reading course and I was simply taking a contour map image of a hill, rotorscoping it, then applying what I rotoscoped as a decal.

Well it doesn't seem to like that. I did a test with a photo just for practice and it worked fine. But now that I am trying to actually do what I thought I could, no luck. The decal just disappears.

I am using A:M 11.1

When you render it, does it show up? If so, then it is a realtime rendering problem...you can set it to OpenGL or DirectX in the "Options" menu.

Hope that helps.

Hmm, I havent even tried rendering it except for pressing the 9 key and hoping to see it while I manipulate the CP's.

Okay, here is the stuff. I have rotoscoped this image and then applied a decal of the same image.

I believe you can see wht I a gong for here. An image of a contour map from a book and then I want to render out a 3D represntation from the map image.

I don't have a problem applying the image as a decal when this is just a 4 CP box, but once I trace the contours the decal is gone and it won't let me reapply it.

I can postition the decal and when I press apply it is gone. It shows up in the project workspace but it does not do any realtime rendering.

What I was hoping to do is what the ground model does that came with my CD. I did try making a grid type of model/CP and that worked out fine, but this contoured thing doesn't seem to want to take.

Yes, you can use the stamp in the decal to restamp the same decal in the same place. However, the image on the right has no valid patches, so the decal has nothing to "adhere" to.
