thejobe
i went back to basics with animating after quite a few failed attempts so i just started with a bouncing ball tell me what you guys think ball_bounce_test.mov
nyahkitty
If you're focusing on honing your animation skills with the basics, then one suggestion I would make is to not have any materials on the model. That way it's easier to see what is happening to the shape of the ball. As far as the motion of ball is concerned, that looks nifty, like it has a life of it's own. If you're trying to get it to animate in a specific way, then it will also help to state what goal you're trying to reach with this particular animation. Then we know what observations to make in order to help you reach that goal. Tell us what you're trying to do with the ball and we'll tell you when you're getting closer. I do like that the file size of the video is relatively small.
thejobe
i am trying to get the effect of a super ball that has a very bouncy serface and i used the hair to see the way it bounces it acutally made it easier for me to follow the motions what i was going for was to get to bounce and loose it bounce after a peroid of time but since the hairs take a while to render i had to shorten it i will rerender to show thw whole animation yes the file size is samll becuase basicly theres nothing in the screen except for the ball
Logrus
This is what it remind me of http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Koosh_ball Not really sure if thats the idea you were going off of, But hey thats what it reminds me off. Even some of the animations were the same..
nimblepix
Jason, I like what you've done. I especially like that you haven't just made the ball bounce straight up and down. The hair really adds to the personality!
