ddustin Posted September 5, 2006 Posted September 5, 2006 We are in need of a person to model, texture and rig a 2003 Grey Ford F-250. Specifications: The interior of the vehicle needs to have the dash area in front of the driver look reasonably good. It will be a night scene, so the gauges will be illuminated. The overall dimensions of the vehicle should reflect the real thing and should not be scaled. The exterior of the vehicle should be made and assembled as separate components. For example, the door should be separate from the front fender and the hood should be separate from the two front fenders and front grill…etc. The left front fender needs sufficient splinage to reflect the damage shown in the image. I expect to see the window wipers, door handles, emblems, antenna, front grill and bumpers as models, not decals. Tail and head lights need to modeled, then decaled. (images on ebay). Tires and rims need to be modeled, but you can use a decal for the rims and a normal map for depth. Bump map for the tire treads as well. (I have a good image for tire treads I can send you). I will require a simple rig with a bone on each tire. The front tires will require to turn left or right and steering wheel will turn with front tires. There should be a main body bone that has the main vehicle body assigned to it. I would also like a pose slider to show the car dipping forward and backwards, plus side to side movement (like going around curb). It is important that the bone used for dipping and side to side (main body bone) motion be located according to the vehicles actual center of mass. We will apply the damage to the vehicle. I am hoping the model can be done in approximately 2-3 weeks. Please send me an email through the AM Forum. Links to work you have done will be helpful. This will pay $300 US (negotiable) Thanks, David Here are images of the damaged truck (one undamaged side and one damaged) [attachmentid=20283] [attachmentid=20284] Quote

John Bigboote Posted October 11, 2006 Posted October 11, 2006 Hey all! I just wanted to post a final w.i.p. of the Ford F250 I made for David Dustin. I think this 'Help Wanted' forum is a great thing... hooking up people with a budget with people who can help them attain their goals. Thank-you Hash for allowing such a forum in the name of simple commerce. Modelling vehicles is in no way an easy task. I work with a group of Maya animators who are considered top-notch in the automotive game. They have a unique way of capturing photo-realism, but they do not venture to model their vehicles, they have them scanned at considerable expense.( http://www.gracewild.com/divisionx/index.html ) On this Ford F250 project I attempted to convert a Maya model to A:M to cut the work load, only to find the time converting was exhorbative and the polygon mesh was WAY too dense for A:M. So I went ahead and modelled in A:M. I've still a lot to learn about attaining photorealism and the lighting that enhances it. I mostly use decals, bump-mappes, distortion mode, and photoshop. I try to get as much reference of the specific vehicle with my digital camera (by searching out local similar cars) and adhere to the nuances of the actual vehicle with the photos supplied. I would like to endorse and THANK David Dustin and Eugene Liscio as bonified and reliable contractors. I encourage any competent modeller looking to pay-off a couple bills to look for their requests and accomodate them. That said...here's my 2003 Ford F-250 for David Dustin. Quote
