I tried that (at your suggestion), and it didn't work. I still have a black sky. Should I do something with the Light Buffers or Camera's Post Effects? Should they be on or off? No. The Alpha option is OFF on the camera. Another wierd thing is that when I watch the rendering process, the sky is blue all the way through while Yeti is stomping along, then the finished piece has a black sky. When I watch the rendering time, while Yeti is stomping along, the sky is blue. When it finishes, the finished piece has black sky! It's wierd. But I've noticed several posts with the same problem.
