When a scene renders [and I'm thinking about multi-frame animations] does the program have to calculate every CP in the model for every frame, or just what the camera sees?

calculating? that could mean lots of things. rendering? locating?

I suppose if an off-camera patch cast a shadow on-camera it would need to be considered in some way.

I am curious what rendering times are like now. And if they have been improved. It was one reason I left A:M for other software, the rendering times were unreasonable for a fully AA frame with reflection/refraction enabled. As an example.
