Baconjacon Posted October 11, 2005 Posted October 11, 2005 Was wondering if theres a plugin that will allow me to save my models as a .nif. The game engine I'm using doesnt support .mdl. So far the most I've been able to find on the net is about how a guy puts his files in .dxf then imports them to 3ds max and saves them as .nif. I don't have 3d's max and am not interested in paying $3000 for it (or however much it is) =/ Any thoughts? Quote
Admin Rodney Posted October 11, 2005 Admin Posted October 11, 2005 I'd imagine there is a converter from DirectX format to NIF but the gaming gurus will know. If there is such a thing then you could export from A:M to x format and then take it to NIF. I know of no direct converter to the NIF format. I think it is proprietarily Maya/Lightwave isn't it? Just answering until those in the know can respond. Rodney Quote

triath5147 Posted October 14, 2005 Posted October 14, 2005 Yeh Rodney is correct. You would have to export to direct x than find another program to go from X to Nif. Off hand I cant even think of a program that will export to Nif, (Ultimate unwrap, milkshape, and I beleive Fragmotion) are some of the more common file type converters, but none of them have Nif that I recall. Good luck on that one. Quote
