Hi

I have a character with three fingers and one thunb on each hand and I can't get the fingers to behave. I have checked all the geometry bones and they are all rolled correctly in the model but when I turn on TSM constraints in an Action they screw up. Rotating any finger's control bone causes the finger to roll rather than bend.

I am fairy certain that I had all the geometry bones correctly rolled at Setup time but an element of doubt remains so I am considering rigging this model again. This will be the third attempt, I tried something different the first time, and I don't really want to have to do all that fan bone rigging and facial rigging again so I wondered if it is possible to get TSM2 to just set-up the hands again without touching the rest of the rig?

I would love to hear from anyone who knows. :)

(I think I'm using the TSM2 update 4.)

Thank you for your quick response, Steve.

I owe you all an apology. It was me again!

The problem appears to be in the Action that I have been testing the rig with and it is not a Setup Machine problem at all. I haven't found the exact cause yet but it is definitely not TSM2 related. :)

I am very sorry for troubling you about this. I just got so caught up in trying to find misaligned bones that I forgot to try the obvious, to test the rig in a new Action.

Thanks again to all at Anzovin Studio for a great product and great service! :)

With kind regards.

Just a little note of guidance for folks, like me, who may become confused by issues like this from time to time:

If you experience twisting fingers try creating a new Action for your model. If the fingers work correctly in a new Action then go back to your original Action and select and delete all references to finger bones in the Action section of the PWS.

I had been deleting all the key frames for the fingers in the timeline only and it was not having any effect. So be sure to delete the references from the bones folder in the action instead.

Once again, thanks to Anzovin Studio for putting up with my ranting. :)
