Nima Anvar Posted December 4, 2004 Posted December 4, 2004 I'd appreciate your critique of this squash and stretch exercise. Note that it's a tennis ball and I wanted to make it bounce as realistically as possible while also applying squash and stretch techniques. Thanks, Nima tennis_ball_.mov Quote
starwarsguy Posted December 4, 2004 Posted December 4, 2004 With the force that it hits the ground with on the first bounce it should be bouncing alot higher, slower, and farther. Also, on the bounces, gravity seems to be pretty heavy as it appears that it is being pulled towards the ground. Pretty good job so far though. Quote
Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted December 7, 2004 Hash Fellow Posted December 7, 2004 Yeah, it sure does seem to be bouncing fast, but I don't have tennis ball here to test. Maybe you based this on a video example? If you're going for VERY realistic, a tennis ball wouldn't elongate on the way down, however... Richard William's "Animator's Survival Kit" book has a spot where he talks about this very exercise and how you can "cheat" reality for a better effect. Great book. Quote
dworkin Posted December 8, 2004 Posted December 8, 2004 sometimes making it look real isn't the key, sometimes certain situations calls for some exaderation.. Quote
