  1. I just bought a copy of Snapz Pro for recording Blender tutorial videos; when the final version of the rig comes out I could try my hand at recording an installation video for it. Unless the 10/31 version is close enough, in which case I can just use that and start working on it right now? So the offer's there, if you want it. But I don't want to go to far with that if you're still updating the rig.
  2. The tumbling controls would be very good. I haven't had a chance to really look at the rig yet (just a bit of playing), but how well does it transition between bipedal and quadrapedal motion?
  3. Jesus. Well, I'll say this: if you called the image done right now, I'd agree with you. I have a suggestion: have you tried doing a specular map so that the floor is shinier / more reflective only in patches? It'd be neat to have the middle more scuffed with scuffs randomly down the corridor (kind of akin to what Rodney said above). The thing is, while the image looks incredible it needs something more... like a person or a cat or something, some reason for the viewer to be there, looking down this hallway. Oh, and the low exit sign of the first shots felt wrong to me, somehow. I know you said it's okay by the code, but I've never seen one that low myself. Keep going!
  4. Personally I love the new cheeks and the fingers. (Definitely not Optimus Prime yet.) I think the cheekbones give him a more gaunt look, yes, but also a more edgy one. Almost distinguished. Since you're going for the Timm look I think what you've got now is a lot closer. Can you post some closeups of the finger tips? They look really interesting. I don't think I've seen them done like that before.
  5. Heya, I think I'm going to have to do a little demo animation to show you what I mean by "snappiness." It's a very hard thing to explain in just words. Partially, this has to do with anticipation and holds. Right now a lot of your motions, not the Actions but the motions that make up the Actions, flow together too smoothly and a little too slowly. The way to fix this is to artificially add small holds. The holds sometimes only last a few frames, like 3 or 4, but the effect on the overall motion is subliminally large. Like I said, I'll have to send a demonstration. Another thing that might help would be keying more bones, like Jeff Lew does on his DVD. Cheers on the full animatic.
  6. Heya man, This shot looks *fabulous.* The lack of lipsync is a tad weird, but I assume that's going to be a task for a second pass. The body motion is good. Three crits: 1) Monk's head snaps for a moment -- is she spitting in his face? It's a strange motion without any kind of anicipation or secondary action. 2) Her wrist, in the very first frame of the first shot, looks broken. (I've broken both of mine, one twice, so I know.) I noticed it in the last video you uploaded, but I forgot to post it. 3) The motion is a bit floaty. Now, on the last crit I think I should clarify what I mean by floaty. Watch The Incredibles tonight. The characters move at a pretty normal pace, but even when they're going slowly there's a visible snap from pose to pose. I think it comes from extra passes and adding keyframes to extend spaces between movements. This might be something that'd really benefit this clip, as the motions themselves are great for the most part (Monk's head thing not withstanding), but they feel like they last too long. However, if you speed up the motions they'd look strange, so you'd need to maybe go back with a second pass and add dirt to the keyframe timeline. Does that make any sense? Anyway, how about uploading a full thing of all the clips seamed together now? It's looking really good. Keep it up!
