  1. Hello Here is the refined smurf using 5 points patch. I have now new questions. How can I set the eyes images on the eye group? When the model will be correct, can I reuse a skeleton of another model, like the rabbit and apply it to the smurf? Smurf_07.prj
  2. I think that selecting point has something to do with clocwise and unclockwise. When the 5 selcted points are visible after having hidden the rest of the model, if you select from the number one point using clockwise direction and repeat the selection starting from the point number two an so on, you will perhaps have a result. Than you start unclockwise fron the number one, after from the number two and so on, you will everytime get a solution. But I did'nt found the rule! Perhaps will somebody find it? I find lassoing them works almost everytime
  3. Ok, it's crystal clear and simple, thank you I'll jump in - in hope to save somebody some time Generally, you have to select the five cps that make up the patch and then click the "make five point patch" icon (lower end of the modelling toolbar, the pentagon shape) The problem is that there are a number of internal rules before a five point patch can be formed and the icon will only turn active when the selected five cps meet all the expectations of A:M - Personally I had the best results when selecting not only the cps but als the splines in order - i.e. click not only on the cp but on the spline next to it - the cp turns green and the spline will also be highlighted. Then hold the shift-key and do the same for all the other patches in order. That's how it works for me 97% of the times. Greetings, Roman
  4. that's great. Can you explain me exactly what to do to get a 5 cps patch? Thanks for your help
  5. Hello Here is the smurf completely A:M made. Comments? Remy
  6. I thank you all for your help. The good tutorials you sent are very helpfull. The commands (right click welds points!) are helpfull to. I did'nt knew that A + shift key gives a non continuous spline. So I can refne my smurf now. Remy
  7. Thank you robcat2075 that's good. Give me please just the shortcut to reattach the splines. I did'nt found in the help.
  8. Ok John, but what have I to do when the cp are unjoined to join them again ? I did'nt found a command to do it.
  9. Hello I need some help for my smurf. I started modeling with A:M. I t works very fine and is very simple. Only smoothing some splines is difficult for me. Is it the way I'm choosing to draw the splines, by sample clockwise or unclockwise or something else? I did foind a command to smooth the points. I tried to control the normals, but got no result. After I shall copy and flip the half head and set the symetry button. I tried it, but the edges on the X axis are not joined. How can I "weld" the points? I'm joining the mdl file and a screen capture. Thanks Remy Smurf_head.mdl
  10. I found the solution. My image was a 48 bit jpeg image. It works now wih a 24 bit image. Thanks for your help. I can now start modeling seriously my smurf....
  11. I did also found this solution, but I do'nt get a result. In the e Workspace, the image folder gets a little star showing I think that something exists. I change in the properties the resolution but it did'nt help. I switched the window display from default to shaded, no result Is perhaps the solution in the options? I'm working under Win 7.
  12. Thanks Robcat When I'm draging the image onto the window, I do'nt get a dialog box and nothing happens. I do'nt see the image.
  13. Hello How can I set a vewport image in the background of a view, only to draw splines ont it. Remy

  15. Hello Here is my smurf. I have some questions - Am I on the right way? Can somebody make some critics? - How to fill some holes in the mesh? thanks for your help Remy Schtroumpf_03.prj
  16. Thank you Steve, but I don't exactly understand. When I'm selecting a bone, I drag the selection rectangle over the points I want to assign to this bone. By sample, if I'm in the right view and select the right foot of my character, the left one is also selected. How can I deselect it? Has somebody made a tutorial? Remy
  17. Hello I'm rigging my own character (a smurf) I modelled into Silo. I got no problems importing the obj file and adding bones. Now, I'm trying to assign control points to the selected bone. If I'm using the select window in a view, I cannot deselect unwanted points. I did'nt found the keyboard shortcut to unselect the points! I tried ctrl, alt and so on, but did'nt found the right way!!! Can somebody help me? Many thanks Remy
  18. Thank you, it works now
  19. Yes, that's it. But what have I to choose? zero? or another value? Thanks very much for your help
  20. Hello I'm newbie in A:M. I'm learning the soft using the tutorials. In Take a Wlalk, my rabbit stops wlalking on the path at about 20% of the line. I see something like separate vectors in the path line. The path is a straight line builded with only two points. Where am I wrong? Rémy
