  1. HI! Wanted to say Thank you again for all your help! Here is something I've been working on. It's a concert stage. Feel free to use it in anyway you want! Enjoy! rock_concert_stage.zip
  2. Hey Gang! Here is a project with models and stuff for everyone to use. Feel free to use these for anything you like! I finished it in After Effects, only because I wanted to use KLF and CC, but 99% was done in the almighty AM! Enjoy! rock_concert_stage.zip
  3. robcat2075... yeah bro! that is exactly what i am trying to do! that looks beautiful! you were right about the round surface. makes all the difference. sorry, just new and still getting the hang of all the input. when i said "getting closer" i was talking about myself. getting closer to understanding everything you said. no hard feelings? anyway i could get that prj file with thom and the box with the same settings?
  4. Thanks guys! I checked out the two files and I think I'm getting closer. I've attached a project with an animating model in a chor kinda similar to the NFL model in the Quicktime I uploaded... and I do mean KINDA!lol Trying to get that look, but not having luck. I think it's a reflection from the ground and sky, but I am having problems getting that sleek look like the QT I attached. If anyone wants to give it a try, please do. Thanks! reflection_glossy_look.mov logo_attempt.zip
  5. Hi Everyone! I've attached the project to a certain look I'm trying to get. Also attached a jpeg as to the look I'm trying to get. Looks like reflections from the ground and sky, but I tried that and it just didn't work. Sucks being a newbie. I've tried numerous things and nothing seems to work. If anyone has time and wants to take a crack at it, please do so. You guys can use these files for anything you like. In fact, I insist. The project has the models and chor with movements already in place, just need to figure out the "glossy-reflective" look. Thanks in advance! glossy_reflections.zip
  6. Thank you everyone for your input. AM forum proves again to be the best.
  7. Yeah, a tga sequence with alpha usually works best, thought I have had success with quicktime movies compressed with the Animation codec. I've had best results making the background behind an image of the person black after I create the alpha channel, and make the alpha channel 1 or 2 pixels smaller than the object. This helps to eliminate the fringe that sometimes results from some programs like Photoshop. You can create a Layer in the choreography in A:M to map the image or image sequence onto. First import your image or sequence, Right-click on the chor and choose New > Layer and choose your image. You can move a Layer anywhere you want in the chor.
  8. Hey Gang! I'm trying to map some Quicktime files onto the green and blue screens, but unfortunately, AM keeps crashing on me. Should I be using a certain codec? Does AM like Quicktime files with alfas? Should I use some pic sequence such as a targa instead of a Quicktime movie? Also, I wanted to add some people (green screen and keyed with alfa) onto the middle stage. Can I place them there without having to map onto a grid/wall? Can they stand alone away from the wall right up to the railing or do I have to map them onto a solid grid/wall? Thanks in advance.
  9. SUCCESS!!! I rendered a .tga sequence and it turned out to be wonderful! I then took it into After Effects and rendered out a QT w/alfa and it's just amazing! AM did a wonderful job! Smooth and clean at that whopping resolution 3840x768!!! Thank you all for taking the time to read and reply! This forum and AM rocks!
  10. Thanks for the fast replies guys! Not sure if it's my comp. I have a MacPro 8 core with 10 gigs of ram. I'm trying to render an object flying across the screen from right to left with an alfa channel at a resolution (hold on to your hats) 3840x768! I know, it's huge. Can AM handle high res custom renders like that? Maybe I need to export as a pict sequence?
  11. Hi Everyone, Does anyone know the biggest resolution AM can render? I tried to render Panavision (2048x871) and AM crashes every time. It does render 1080 every time. Is 1080 the highest resolution AM will output/render? Thanks in advance.
  12. thank you all so much for your advice and tips. so very helpful! you are all very kind and generous. on another note, i am simply blown away by the quality of work i have seen on this site!!! blows me away that such beautiful work can be done with software that is only $80!!! jimd... thank you oh so much for that tut! it was and is very helpful! john bigboote... your work is amazing! did you create all that with only AM?! mike and robcat... you guys are awesome! totally seems to be working! just need to learn AM like you guys! if i ever figure it out completely, i will post the project files. again, thank you all for your time and knowledge!
  13. Hi Everyone, I'm new to AM and the forum and have a question. Does anyone know the trick to getting the materials and lights to look like the NFL Access logo/animations? Is it possible to get this look with AM? Sorry, I'm sure it's possible, but I'm new and don't know the program very well. Thanks so much in advance!
