  1. I have seen this issue in my Vista also. Here is what I did.

    1. Unzip your Data folder anywhere but not where your A:M is installed

    2. Drag those files from each folder in side the data folder where you just unzip, and drop them into where they belong in side the A:M data folder.

Do not use copy and paste.

I did with the copy and paste and they do not show up, but when I use the drag and drop they do show up. Try it if this might help.

    CHEERS!

  2. Congratulations! - You graduated! :D

Have a look at this thread:

    http://www.hash.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=28474

and you can have your very own Certificate to hang up on your wall.

Thank you, Caroline. I will drop Steve an email... :P

    Bravo!

You are now in the ranks of the few who have successfully demonstrated they chart the course, perservere and run the race all the way to the finish.

    Outstanding accomplishment.

    Congratulations! :)

Thank you, Rodney. Now, I can start my WIP and join the SO movie team...

  3. Now, how about exercise16? I have finished everthing, except trying to use it to creat a movie

I don't understand the question - when you say "create a movie", do you mean "render it out to a .mov?".

You shouldn't need any 'actions' for Ex 16 - I got a bit confused when you were creating actions last time, but I assumed you wanted to save it as a reusable action for another time.

You should put it all together in the choreography, then render it to a Quicktime Mov, using Sorenson 3 compression.

    Nevermind! I got it.

  4. You mean it does not show up in the library?

I find the easiest way to add something to the library is to drag from the folder showing in Windows Explorer and drop it into the correct folder in the Library in A:M.

In the library, that is correct.

I have tried it both way and still does not show up in the Action folder when the AM is running.

Did u right click on the action and select "create shortcut in library"?

It works now as I did what MasterFunk suggested. Thank you both for helping. Now, how about exercise16? I have finished everthing, except trying to use it to creat a movie.

Which one will I have to save in order to use it in the movie, and my best guess would be the Action just like exercise15?

    CHEERS!

  5. "Actually, I have run into an issue with this exercise, but I decided to finish it anyway. When I turn on the IK his right arm folded right away. I am not sure what the problem is, but when I checked the bones that control the elbows I found the Left and Right controllers are reversed. What I did was just move them to where belong but still does not fix the issue. If you have noticed from the movie itself the left elbow does not move naturally, and I wish someone can help me find out what is the root cause. I have tried to redo this exercise 5 tims but still the same issue."

It is a common problem with the version 13, 2001 skeleton. You have to turn the euler limits in the right forearm to 100% instead of 0%. After that it should work perfectly.

Thank you FYI, MasterFunk. I will try it again. About exercise15, I just renderred it directly from the action window. I tried to save it as a new action in the action folder so I can reuse it, but it does not show up in there. I then check in the actual path where AM is installed, and I can see my new action in that folder but not when I run the app.

    Exercise15.

    exercise15.mov

  6. Exercise13.

He walks! I remember I enjoyed this exercise - the feeling of power of being able to inject life. :D

    Thank you.

Your cooper face looks amazing. It took me many tries to get something resembling a human face.

Thank you, MasterFunk. Just try me best.

  7. Looking good! :)

You made Exercise 11.5 look easy all while providing some great examples for others to follow.

    Keep up the pace!

Thank you, Rodney. Not quite easy, because this is my first time working with spline. I will try my best, and I am almost there. On exercise11.5, I would like to add the eyelash, but I am not quite sure how to add the those picture because there are two images for it(if I remeber correct.

Do I use decal to add those textures to the eyelash or there is another way?

    Thank you!

  8. You have discontinuous splines. One way to check is to turn bias handles on and then click on either side of the suspect spline. If you are in smooth mode, you should see two bias handles, one on either side of the cp. If you only see one bias handle, you know the cp is either peaked or you have a discontinuous spline. If it's a dis-spline, hit shift and "k". This action will split the splines in two. Now Left click select the cp and while holding the left mouse button, simultaneously hit the right mouse button. This action will mend the two splines into one. Now you should see one smooth spline instead of two dis-splines.

Let us know if that solved the problem.

Eric, the problem is now solved, and I am really appreciated your help.

Another way to check is to click the spline near a CP, not quite on it, and press the Comma key. This will highlight the current spline, so you can see how far it extends.

Caroline, thank you for a nice "comma" trick, and this is really helpful.

Also, thank you Rob and Homeslice.

    CHEERS! :P

  9. It's possible those CPs are "peaked".

It's also possible the "bias" is misadjusted. check the properties for a CP . Default is gamma 0, alpha 0, magna 100%.

Rob, I checked the CP proerties and they are correct.

    Gamma 0

    Alpha 0

    In/Out Mag 100%

It also in the "Smooth" mode.

    Thank you, Rob.

  10. Does AM support UV-map

Sure does. A:M even has a built in UV Editor.

To access it Right Click on either your Decal or on the decal's stamp and select Edit.

This will open the mesh/decal in the UV Editor where you can adjust your mesh as necessary.

This is great, and I am really glad to hear that. Thank you FYI, Rodney!
