  1. No, that was not the intention. As I mentioned in the first post, it was a way of one hand washing the other. You know, you help me and I help you. I merely asked if someone was interested in helping me with the commercial using thier established models, and I provide the advertising sayng if you like our commercial here is the Artist who made it. It seems upfront, honest, and straight forward to me. I was also thinking that if someone could create a commercial realtively quickly, similar to the 11 second club. Instead of only the winner winning a critique of thier animation, then someone who may not be the winner might be interested in the exposure and potential jobs from either my visitors who also own busiensses and need a commercial or a larger job from us as we grow to a larger corporation. In the first post I also said, "if this is not a feasible idea, please let me know that as well."
  2. Great, really nice..... I wouild like to learn more about this.
  3. Hi Everyone, Would anyone know what a reasonable fee and time frame would be for something like this? 1. Established Rigged Model, Props, and a Wav File - Need to animate the character, lipsynch, add props, and a simple background. The idea is that the Model would be speaking in the foreground, with the props in the back and on thier sides. During the speech, I would like to cut to a coouple of diferent camera angles to make the speech interesting. The Wav file is 30 seconds long. Thanks, Bob
  4. Thanks Dhar, that did it! I thought it would automatically sandwich all of the splines together creating the 1 spline and control point. Thanks again, Bob
  5. Great, thanks Rusty!! I hate to tell you how long I looked in the book and in the forum. Thanks again, Bob PS. I glad to hear you made out ok with the fire in your area!
  6. Hi Everyone, I need to add a New Model (mdl) and a New Sound (wav) into the library on my hard drive. I tied to copy and paste the files into the appropriate directories, but they Do Not show up as a thumbnail. Each time I open the progam, I can never see them in the libraries window even though they are physically in that directory. Has anyone else run into this before? Thanks, Bob
  7. Thanks again, everyones help is greaatly appreciated. I created my first winnie the pooh head. I modeled half and then copy/flipped it. There are a few points that did not regenerate correctly, I took care of most of them. Have you ever had one corner that would NOT attach to the other half's corner? Here is a picture of what I talking about. I peeled one corner back a little bit to make the problem more obvious. Also, here is my first pooh head. it needs tweaking, plus the eyes, and the mouth cut in. I am also wondering if I have TOO many splines. Thanks, Bob
  8. Great news!! On Thursday, I recieved the Barry Zundel DVD's. I'm only half way thru the first DVD (Modeling) and it's as if someone just turned on the light bulb Thanks again for everyone's help and recommendations! Bob
  9. ok, thanks, I understand. As a newbie, I wasn't sure how long it would take to create a spot with thier established models. I thought it would just be a question of animating them. I thought the free exposure and links would be a good trade especially if they picked up new business. I guess I still don't realize how much work is involved.
  10. I wouldn't be opposed to it, however, at this time there is NO way to track that kind of thing. It's very likely, today's customers probably began thier search 6 months ago. It's very commmon for a customer to visit 6 or 7 times before they place an order or they coe to us via a referral.
  11. Hi Everyone, I own an online company with national exposure and I am trying to grow my business. My website is http://www.EZMLSListing.com Typically, I get about 50-100 hits per day. I am wondering if anyone would be intersted in submitting a themed 15 or 30 second TV commercial that I could post on my website and possibly Air in the future. As a newbie, my skills will take time, so I was thinking that I could provide the exposure and include the Artist's contact information and a link to their website in exchange for a TV Commerical that someone submits. There would be NO exchange of Money, it would just be a way of one hand washing the other. I would gain the TV Commmecial, the Artist would gain exposure and links to their websites. Is this something anyone would be interested in? Also, if this is not a feasible idea, please let me know that as well. Thanks, Bob
  12. Great, this is what I am looking for!! I can't seem to find anything in the book on how to do this. How do you use this tool and where is it located? Do you need to group the text and then right click for something? This is what I have so far?
  13. I am trying it now, I can add the bone, but I couldn't find a way to assign a constraint while in the Modeling mode. I also created a letter, but unfortunately I couldn't constrain it to the bone or the spline. There must be something I am missing. Maybe I am just not picking the correct menu picks. Also, on a side note, I did find the "surface constraint" in the help menu. It's for following a spline, but can only be used in the Chcoreography mode or at least I think. Thanks again, Bob
  14. Thanks, I think I have it..... I'll try it tongiht and post the results. Thanks again for Everyone's help! Bob
  15. Great, thanks Cross, I appreciate your help..... Bob
  16. Hi Johnl3d, This sounds like a great idea. I'm a newbie in A:M, but I have about 7 years of modeling experience in Pro/e. I understand the concept, but I not famialiar with the terminology. Could you explain this phrase a little more? "have the text as a chain of bones with each letter its own bone" I think I'm close to understanding, i just need a little nudge. Thanks, Bob
  17. Thanks, I understand....and agree! As a newbie, the decal is nothing more than a jpg that is then applied to model. Where directory should I place the jpg so I will be able to see it in A:M and then apply it to the model? Thanks again, Bob
  18. Hi Everyone, I am making a Honey Pot and I would like the 3D Text to sit on the outside surface of my pot. Instead of using decal, I want the text to have 3d thickness. Would anyone know how to do this? Also, I lost the model 3x when I hit the undo button two times in a row. I thinking it might be related to the curled in top surface. Was I going too fast? Have you ever run into this before? Thanks, Bob
  19. Eureka!! I have a shape, I know it's not the best and I will have to redo it, but I have a shape! This will hold me over unitl the DVD's arrive. Thanks again for everyone's help.... Bob
  20. Thanks Paul, this is a great idea! I'll give it a try today... Thanks again, Bob
  21. Thanks Everyone, I appreciate your help.... I ordered the DVD's on Friday morning. I thought my experience in Pro/e would speed up the learning curve even though it's polygon vs spline modeling. Once I recieve the DVD's, I'll give it another try. Thanks again, Bob
  22. I ran the horizontal splines from front to back. It's apparent, I need an easy example to practice the skills I need to accomplish with this model. Do you have any ideas for a very simple?
  23. Excellent, thanks.... I ordered the DVD's this morning. In some cases, I think the book relies too much on someone's experience and there seems to be too large of a gap at times in between the key modeling steps. It would be nice if some of the areas were spelled out a little more. I've been modeling with Pro/E (3D Mechanical Software) for about 7 years and this is very similar to thier surfacing feature. This all makes sense, it's just new..... Thanks again for your help, I'll have a new version tonight. Regards, Bob
  24. Great, good idea! Sorry for the late reply, I missed your response earlier.... Bob
