ddustin Posted October 22, 2004 Posted October 22, 2004 I know this is to be for WIP, but it's the only place where you can post an image, although I guess I could upload the file to my website. I'm having a problem decaling a beveled box. The decal ends up skewed, regardless of the format (.tga, .jpg). Tried different decals also. thanks, d Quote
ddustin Posted October 22, 2004 Author Posted October 22, 2004 OK, I had to create a area in the center of the box to decal to. Don't know why. d Quote
KenH Posted October 22, 2004 Posted October 22, 2004 I just had a closer look....it looks like it's following the lines of splines but there are none there. Might you have some internal rendering going on there? Quote
ypoissant Posted October 23, 2004 Posted October 23, 2004 You would get better result if your patches were more rectangularly regular. Try to remodel your cube so that the face patch is square or rectangular. Take a look at my Beveled tutorial to see how I handle these situations. Quote
ddustin Posted October 24, 2004 Author Posted October 24, 2004 Youv'e been doing this since 86? Very impressive. Wrote your own code, very impressive. I find myself thinking things won't get better or easier than they are today, yet tomorrow comes with new advantages and tools. Someday creating animation will be so easy, anyone can do it (that's almost true right now). What will happen to us? d Quote
KenH Posted October 24, 2004 Posted October 24, 2004 There will always be the "12 rules" of animation and their implimentation. It's these and not the tools that an animator make. Quote
