My First Face

My first attempt at making a face. I already know of many issues with it, but this is about two hours of effort just to get this. I've learned a lot from this exercise, mostly how splines work and 5 point patches.

 

I'm off to sleep for tonight, tomorrow I'll work on doing a set of shoulders/torso, and maybe another face.

The picture looks very dark here so hard to really see any detail.

Keep it up. Practice makes perfect!

To get some better comments, we'll need more. A color that contrasts more with the background would be good. Is this just a freestyle face or are you using reference? A front view, side view and 3/4 view would tell us a lot about what we could suggest for you. Wireframes help too.

Ah yes, it was a free form face, not designed after anybody or any image at all. It turned out pretty crummy. Next time I'll post with a grey w/wireframe.

I can get the start of a little story from this thing.

An unsuspecting customer purchases a special can of royal blue paint that comes under the label "Magic Sheen". Unknown to her is that the paint formulation was derived from a Arabic magician potion recipe that was discovered in an ancient book of magic. Little does she know what events are about to unfold from it's application.
