Its about Automata through the centuries, starting with clocks in towns and progressing to figures that can draw and write under their own motive power. I bought the books recently but haven't had time to read them yet. The BBC show is very good if you can get to see it, (?), features a lot of automata over the centuries and highlights parallels with later tech developments. regards simon Quote
