Heiner
Hi there, Since it is now possible to import OBJs i am wondering, if it is possible, to use its UVs (if there are some of course). If yes, how do i acess them. Besides, i am wondering, if the OBJ importer which is implemented in AM now, is the one by Arthur Walasek? Best regards, Heiner
Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted December 5, 2012 Hash Fellow Share Posted December 5, 2012 What would yo do with these UVs? You mean a UV map?
Heiner
Hi there, yes, its the UVmap i am talking about. Regards Heiner
Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted December 5, 2012 Hash Fellow Share Posted December 5, 2012 If it had a bitmap texture when it was imported I presume that will show up in your Images folder.
Heiner
You are right, my fault. When you import and have the bitmap as Material, then the existing UV Layout comes as a stamp. Very nice! Thanks Heiner
Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted December 5, 2012 Hash Fellow Share Posted December 5, 2012 Regarding the importer, I think it originates from Arthur but Steffen has also done some upgrading on it, i believe.
Admin Rodney Posted December 5, 2012 Admin Share Posted December 5, 2012 i am wondering, if it is possible, to use its UVs (if there are some of course). If yes, how do i acess them. Are you familiar with Right Clicking on the Decal and editing in the UV Editor? There are some new capabilities in v17 that let you separate the UV patches*, rearrange, rotate, scale etc. *This doesn't effect the real patches of the model... just their representative UVs in the UV Editor. Whoops. My response wasn't concerning OBJs. Please disregard.
