Joe Dorsey, an aspiring traditional animator, posted a link to a recent interview with John Lasseter in another forum.

In addition to many movie clicks and personal insights into John Lasseter there are also interesting facts about George Lucas and Steve Jobs.

Joe had this to say in his post about the interview:

It shows some real passion from John about his love for animation. What really got me going was hearing how Pixar works and reworks their story all along the way before committing to production. Here's kind of an outline from what I heard.

The overall goals:

Tell a compelling story

Create memorable and appealing characters

Place them in a believable world

General Production breakdown

1. Story idea

- Important questions: Where is the emotion going to be? What is the setting?

2. Outline

6. Story Reels (revise 4-6 times before going to production)

Andrew Stanton's comment on writing and re-writing...

"Be wrong as fast as you can."

Thanks Joe!
