What is the best (or preferred if you prefer) codec to use for QT and for AVI?

Also, I accidentally rendered to a JPG sequence, how do I make them into a movie?

thanks in advance.

MPG4 or sorenson3 can compress well. H264 compresses well but can't be had directly from A:M

It is possible to make bad settings on any of those and get bad results.

and for AVI?
avoid it

import the sequence into IMAGES

then RMB and "Save as Animation"

Actually rendering to imagesequences and after that saving them as a movie is the best way to do it...

h264 is one of the best codecs avaiable. Small filesizes, great quality.
