Handy Andy
Yeah... that's the fat & skinny of my topic. Do .OBJ work in A:M? If not, are there models I can purchase from TurboSquid? Thanks.
John Bigboote
THIS has always been a recurring topic...so you may want to utilize a search on OBJ... It's hard to give a straight YES or NO answer as you may be fishing for. It depends on what you mean by 'work'... You CAN import an obj as a 'prop' into a choreography, but that's all it is... a prop. And I believe it imports without decals or shaders, so it would be a grey prop...unless you want to change the whole thing red or some other flat color... SOME PEOPLE have had success with Arthur Walesek's obj importer htx utility...but typically an obj is triangularly tessillated and A:M lokes it's 4 sided shapes... so there is a LOT of cleanup with this method. SOME models work better than others. Give it a whirl!
mbousquet
Just wanted to make sure you know that TurboSquid support will help you figure out if a model will work for you before you purchase it. There's 24/7 Live Chat, so you can discuss the model with someone right when you're looking at it. Michele Bousquet TurboSquid, Inc.
Joe Gamblin
You know that's there's hundreds of free A:M models floating around. What are you looking for? You might be able to get it free, and this is a very active and helpful community. In my experience, any question that you can think of on using the model including lighting, animating, decals, normal maps, etc, will be answered in just a few hours.
