emh_alpha1 Posted February 4, 2004 Posted February 4, 2004 Here's my digger model - rotoscoped from some photos I took from a roading construction site. I'm hoping to animate it for a job I'm doing at the moment. I'm trying to do the tracks at the moment, and I'm trying to bone them so I can get the tracks to turn (as in the excellent tutorial for tank tracks on the AM Resource site). Quote
emh_alpha1 Posted February 4, 2004 Author Posted February 4, 2004 Tracks are pretty painful to do - mostly because they're so complex. But finished one side. Just working through the boning now, then I'll duplicate to the other side - crossed fingers everything will copy across okay... Quote
zacktaich Posted February 4, 2004 Posted February 4, 2004 Do you have a mirror bones plugin? Looks like good mechanical modeling, which fits perfectly for the image contest theme. Quote
JohnArtbox Posted February 4, 2004 Posted February 4, 2004 Looks great Mark. A nice clean simple mesh. Do you have bevells on the surface edges? It doesn't look like they're modelled, but it's hard to tell if you've used lowered magnitudes. What sort of job is it for? Quote
emh_alpha1 Posted February 4, 2004 Author Posted February 4, 2004 I put bevels on the cabin, but not on the arm. Didn't want the model to become too complex - although spose I could go back and bevel it. Using the model for a website job - probably output the animation into Flash. I'll give that Duplicator wizard and go for the tracks on the other side. Haven't tried using that before... Quote
