Is there a kind of template for material combinations and settings already laid out anywhere?

 

x+x+x+X= glass, or chrome ... ect..

 

or do you play with the setting until you get what yoou want....Thanks for answering in advance.

I usually start with a material from the CD library (or the Extra CD/DVD) and modify it to my needs.

 

What version AM are you running.

 

There are also DarkTree materials which are very good.

Yes, the Darktrees are highly recommendable for this purpose...and free I believe. I think there is a plug-in you have to install, then you will want to download the entire package...LOTS of preset textures and such.

I will check it out, and I am using version 15a, installed the web subcription on desktop as well as my laptop. It was well worth buying two

subscriptions.

The darktree plugin has been part of the included plugins for awhile now
