mclemster
Hello, I am attempting to import Ai files into animation master via the plugin wizard. However for some reason it will not import the files. With recent Ai file formats it will exit the wizard, but not import anything. With older files, the software shuts down. I can't figure it out. Has anyone else had this problem? I'm using Windows xp pro. service pack 2. Any idea's/thoughts? Thanks. MC Also are there any plugins that allow the import of an .eps? edlundart
i had this problem, but once i shut down A:M and restarted, it worked. also try unchecking some of the options on the right side of the plugin (i don't have it in front of me now, so i don't remember specifics). basically the fewer things you enable, the better chance it has to work, it seemed to me. but that means you may have to close off shapes yourself, etc.
mclemster
Tried the restart, but still no luck, I have no boxes selected at all on the left. Thanks again, MC
mclemster
OK new question, I am attempting to import a logo into A.M. The program used to make the logo was Adobe Illistrator. I have tried as .dxf's. Are there any other idea's out there that might help me? For some reason I can't import the .ai file directly. I would use it as a .jpg and just decal it, only I need it to be in 3d, or something that can become such. Any idea's. Also does anyone know where I can find plugins to import any other sorts of files? Thanks MC
zandoriastudios
export from illustrator as illustrator legacy, then choose V8 as the file type. After that you shouldn't have any problems
largento
One thing I've noticed is that it doesn't work if you have the "none" radio button under "subdivide edges" checked, nothing will import. I usually set it to "auto." If you're using CS3, they don't have the legacy thing anymore, but if you save it as an illustrator file, you'll get the option to pick which version to save it as and Illustrator 8 is one of them.
