Karl Posted December 24, 2006 Posted December 24, 2006 Please read this over and email me with your price and estimated schedule - Karl@KarlTMiller.com - Thanks! I'm needing a photo-realistic white sandy beach chor like these in appearance: Here are some required details: 1. Topology will encompass about 2-3 square miles with a fingerlike pennisula. The mainland will be palm tree covered - this will probably be best done with "palm tree" hair - where the hair image would be derived from a previous render(s) of your palm tree model (#4 below). There will be a pleasant sparsely clouded blue skydome covering horizon to horizon and a nicely modeled clear Carribean sea that looks nice from a distance (some large scale water caustics would be nice - to go with the detailed water caustics described below). The mainland will have some little jutting rocky formations/mini-mountains further inland inset from the coast. NOTE: THE MAINLAND ONLY NEEDS TO BE MODELED SO THAT IT IS OK TO BE VIEWED FROM A DISTANCE... The remaining details all have to do with the tip of the pennisula, where all the action will take place. 2. I'll need the ability to stamp bare foot prints in the sand, that will follow characters like this (or perhaps a little deeper/darker): 3. Closeup water caustics will be nicely modeled at the tip of the penisula - the characters will not go in the water - but steady lapping waves should be modeled in the chor. 4. A highly detailed photo-realistic palm tree should be modeled - put some bones in the trunk so otherwise similar trees can be made to look a little different from each other. It's up to you to use hair or actually model the leaves - whichever you choose should look nice though. The wind will be dead calm - so no need to make the leaves blow in the wind, unless you want to. 5. Tire tracks should be left in the sand that plausibly could have been made by this car model: http://3dfrog.com/store/index.php?main_pag...c9076432db70f40 6. Extra credit (meaning extra dollars) if you can model characters who are leaving footprints or the aforementioned car kicking up a cloud of sand on the beach in a somewhat flexible/modular manner. 7. EXTRA EXTRA CREDIT (MEANING EVEN MORE DOLLARS) if you can model a material that can be applied to characters that is a decent simulation of the white sand sticking to their bodies - I'd drive the appearance of this with a decal - so provide same on a sample character to prove the concept to me. THANKS FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION! Quote
ddustin Posted January 19, 2007 Posted January 19, 2007 Karl, You really don't want to use tree hair, there is a much better solution that I could make for you. We have experimented extensively and our solution works very well, I can send you an example. Contact me at my email address or I think you have my cell as well (you should still have it).
