ccmsteach
I have a window that I want the bone to be constrained so that it will rotate only on the x-axis. In the default models for A:M they have similar bones for knees. How is this accomplished? Here is a picture of what I am working on. Stuart Rogers
I have a window that I want the bone to be constrained so that it will rotate only on the x-axis. In the default models for A:M they have similar bones for knees. How is this accomplished?Do you really want to constrain your bone rotation, or do you simply want only one of the rings in the bone manipulator showing (the red ring in your image)? If the latter... Take a look at the properties for the bone. You should see an item labelled "Limit Manipulators". Set that to Rotate Only[1] and that should reveal various options for turning on and off various manipulators. Under the Rotate section, set Y-axis and Z-axis to OFF, set X-axis to ON. From then on, in your chors and in actions, you'll only see the X-axis rotation manipulator ring. [1] Or similar - I'm away from A:M at the moment and only have an old manual to hand for reference. luckbat
If the former, Spherical Limits.
ccmsteach
Excellent! Thank you both. Showing just the x-axis manipulator is exactly what I desired for the window, but I guess I worded it wrong. However, the spherical limits will come in handed in the future. Good stuff.
