My try at technical modeling

i wanted to try modeling something that looked like an actual real world thing

in this case an ipod

this one took about an hour

first try at getting color maps onto a model so dont yell at me if they are wrong im still new to it

i couldnt figure out how to get the look of chrome onto the back of the ipod so i just guessed with some color and specularity

tell me what you guys thing

feedback and tips are very much welcomed

Jay,

 

Looks very nice. I'm not sure where the chrome goes on an i-pod, but if you look at the "Material" tab in the Library and drill sown you will find a nice chrome material.

 

In your model, just make a group of the part that needs to be chromed, name the group, and then drag & drop the chrome material onto the group.

 

You might want to play around with bias on the edge bevelling to make a smoother transition between the flat surfaces and the curve.

 

Other than that, it looks great.
