jon Posted May 31, 2005 Posted May 31, 2005 while the console makers are a factor, almost all of these issues are due to greedy, lazy, developers, and the idiots (us) who keep eating the dog food on our plates. the games will get smarter and more original when consumers reward the publishers who make smart and original games. but then those companies will keep cranking out the same kind of game till we smack 'em down again. grand theft auto was freakin' awsome the first time i played it, vice city was cool.. and san andreas is just kinda neat. (technically i'm still playing it, but i haven't touched it this year.) -jon Quote
Multiades Posted July 23, 2005 Posted July 23, 2005 Hilarious and true. I wish I could really take a swing at game design without the technical hurdle of programming. I mean, I'm not bad at VB-type-stuff, but the towering logistics necessary to make a 3D game work correctly is probably beyond me. I was looking at DarkBASIC, and I could probably swallow most of the techniques necessary to make a game, but I'd be doing things so much less efficiently than a dedicated programmer. -Chris Quote
LordPython Posted August 13, 2005 Posted August 13, 2005 Whew, that was alot to read, but it's all 100% true. Quote
